"Not really smelly but smells new" (Preliminary comparison of guano moths (Lepidoptera: Tineidae) from three Luzon caves and life history notes on the species from Cavinti, Laguna)
Issue Date

Abstract
Guano moths from three Luzon caves were compared. Preliminary comparisons on coloration of wings, abdomen, and head were conducted. The guano moths from these three localities are distinct from one from one another. Pictures were also taken to support the data. In addition, life history of the guano moth species from Cavinti was studied under laboratory conditions. Estimated pupal period is approximately nine days. Head capsule and casing lengths of Cavinti guano moth larvae were measured. The two parameters were correlated using Spearman's correlation analysis and found to have a strong correlation (r=0.7476,p-value<0.05).
