Abstract
The study developed a guide that can be used in observing coconut scale insect for ecological and toxicological evaluation of pesticides. The rate of growth and development of healthy and pesticide-treated individuals was observed from hatching up to adult stage. Mortality was determined using color of the cast skin and/or the insect as well as the degree of attachment of the scale to the leaf surface.
