Criteria and indicators for assessing mangrove forest restoration in Padre Burgos, Quezon Province

Abstract
This paper presents the results of a study in three coastal communities in Padre Burgos, Quezon which aimed to determined the applicability of the criteria and indicators (C&I) for sustainable forest management in assessing the mangrove forest restoration efforts of the communities. The Forest Management Bureau-Department of Environment and Natural Resources formulated these C&I based on the International Tropical Timber Organization C&I. The research involved assessment of the C&I for their applicability and adaptability to mangrove forests, community consultations, and field validation of the C&I through focus group discussions (FGDs) with community representatives.
