Pesticide safety practices among farm women
Issue Date

Abstract
A survey was conducted to determine and analyze the pesticide safety practices of farm women. From the four IPM-CRSP training sites, 162 farm women served as respondents. Results showed that although majority of the farm women were protective gear when applying pesticides, the quality of these gears is not enough to provide protection. Practices in disposing excess pesticides and their containers were alarming and not proper. The study recommends that in the conduct of IPM trainings, topics on these subjects should be included and that women be invited because they are considered the health caretakers of the Filipino household and they help in pest management activities.
