Reproductive status of the golden apple snail, Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck (Gastropoda: Ampullariidae), after rice paddy harvest in MIDSAYAP, Cotabato

Abstract
The reproductive status of the golden apple snail, Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck, was determined by dissecting the snails collected inside the paddy and in the irrigation canal after harvest of rice. The snails had mature reproductive organs. Generally, spent females (with shriveled and pale pink albumen glands) were observed in both locations, suggesting that the females had laid at least one egg mass during the cropping season.
