Abstract
A survey of farmers' practices for managing GAS [golden apple snail] was conducted in selected barangays of Midsayap, Cotabato. Initial results of the still on-going survey revealed that the farmers (n=35) with an average age of 49 years and farming experience of 23.33 years, use either cultural, mechanical or chemical control, or their combination in abating their GAS problem. Their sources of knowledge were the sales representatives of chemical companies, neighbors and technicians of the Department of Agriculture.
