Abstract

Nine commonly sprayed insecticides for the control of citrus insect pests were screened for toxicity to the adult parasitoid wasp, Aphytis sp. nt. chrysomphali. Based on the LC50 the order of decreasing toxicity to Aphytis was: methyl parathion = monocrotophos > BPMC = deltamethrin > cyfluthrin = malathion > azinphos ethyl > triazophos > endosulfan. The selection of Aphytis sp. nr. chrysomphali with endosulfan has led to approximately eight-fold increase in resistance after four selection cycles.
