A New Species of the Genus Bavia Simon,1877 (Araneae:Salticidae) from the Highlands of Sagada, Mountain Province, Luzon Island, Philippines

Abstract
Bavia gabrieli, a new species of pluridentate jumping spider from the highlands of Sagada, Mountain Province, Luzon Island, Philippines is described. It closely resembles B. sexpunctata (Doleschall, 1859) from Amboina, Moluccan Islands, Indonesia in body size, general appearance and leg spination. B. gabrieli, however, has three pro marginal teeth in both sexes; male pedipalp has a long posterior lobe of tegulum which extends to bail one-third of tibia, conductor and embolus are twice longer than in B. sexpunctata, retrolateral tibial apophysis (RTA) blunt truncated anteriorly; female B. gabrieli unlike B. sexpunctata has 4123 leg formula, gonopore opening broad and strongly altered, midposterior epigynal margin strongly sclerotised and tongue-like, and rounded spermathecae slightly broad anteriorly.
