Issue Date

4-1997

Abstract

Sand mites of the genus Diplectria are characterized by the presence of pretarsalae on tarsus I and the absence of subterminalia and parasubterminalia. Seven species are described mostly from the Oriental Region, including D. asiatica Wen et Corpuz-Raros sp.n. from a bat, Pipistrellus sp. The generic characters of Diplectra are reviewed and the description of the new Philippine species is compared with six other known species in the genus.
