Medical records of dogs diagnosed with urolithiasis from 2008-2017 were retrieved from a veterinary teaching hospital for retrospective analysis to determine risk factors associated with the condition. Information collected included signalment, history, chief complaint, urinalysis results, urolith location, and treatment. Results showed 341 first-time cases of dogs diagnosed with urolithiasis with an increasing prevalence from 0.51% to 1.20% over the span of ten years. The most common chief complaint was hematuria (37.09%). The occurrence of urolithiasis was greater in small (45.07%) and intact (98.24%) dogs fed with dry diets (74.52%). Moreover, Shih tzu (36.28%) and dogs aged 4-6 years (34.63%) were frequently reported. Nevertheless, the occurrence of urolithiasis was equal in both sexes (p>0.05, p=0.70). The most common diagnostic test used were radiography and urinalysis (53.96%). Majority of the uroliths identified were observed in the bladder (69.50%) and urethra (18.77%) wherein the frequent urolith location were at the urinary bladder (94.44%) for females; and urinary bladder (46.94) and urethra (35.75%) for males. Medical management (100%) and surgical treatment (34.64%) were done in urolithiasis cases. Identified risk factors associated with urolithiasis in the study should be considered by veterinary practitioners for patient assessment and prevention of the disease.
