Abstract
Areas of concern for the development of postharvest handling systems for ornamentals were presented. These include a comprehensive product characterization, improvement of the production phase including the use of superior cultivars, establishment of packinghouses in key ornamental production centers, infrastructure development, establishment of a 'cold chain', development of product standards and manpower development.
