Abstract
Sabularse, Veronica C. Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Banos. Enhancing students understanding of stoichiometry. A module on stoichiometry for students enrolled in NASC I classes was prepared to enhance their understanding of the concept. A pre-test was given to the students to determine their baseline knowledge after which they were given the module to study. The students were then given a post-test after studying the module for one to two days. Statistical analysis showed that the students improved their performance and understanding of the topics after studying the module. This was indicated by the higher mean score and facility indices obtained in the post-test test. Score differences (AScore) between the pre-test and the post-test for a majority of the students (17.65%) was in the range of 46 — 50 points. Mode and median scores were higher in the post-test. Overall, the use of the module improved the test scores of the students.
