Abstract

Lowland Agroforestry System (LAS) provides high opportunity to grow trees where trees can grow best. Contributing factors for best tree growth were identified. LAS implementation/application in the Philippines and in other countries were reviewed. These countries include Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, Australia, United States. Sweden, Germany and Japan. Selected policy and management issues in renewable natural resources conservation in relation to the LAS were discussed. Finally recent research results and development in LAS were reported, including recommendations.
