Abstract
This study identified the perceptions of school heads of the Department of Education in the selected primary and secondary schools in the Division of Nueva Ecija and Gapan City about the deployment of the field study students of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, San Isidro Campus, this A.Y. 2022-2023. First, the profile of the respondents, such as their highest educational attainment, current position, academic rank, and length of service, were identified in the study. There were 29 school heads in the selected schools of the Division of Nueva Ecija and Gapan. Second, in order to gather the perceptions of the school heads in terms of the field study students’ school assignment, their distribution in the different DepEd schools, their field of specialization, and the number of hours they render, they were presented with semi-structured interview guide during their focus group discussion. They were all interviewed on their views and perceptions. The responses acquired from the participants of the interviews were consensually audio-recorded and subsequently transcribed by the researchers. The results showed that these participating school heads were mostly experienced teachers to handle Field study students. Finally, there were a number of views and perspectives given by these participating school heads because their experiences can justify them.
