Abstract
On modeling preferences Using Binary and Fuzzy Relations. A Special Problem. Albert J. Palma (Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics). Institute of Mathematical Science and Physics, University of the Philippines at Los Baños, June 1988. The modeling of preferences using binary and fuzzy relations is examined. A binary preference relations model and fuzzy preference relations model are presented. Structure in both models are examined as to their use in finding solutions to three formulations of the basic decision making problem. The models were compared and contrasted. The structures useful in the obtaining of solutions were the set of dominant elements and the set of undominated elements. It was noted that the results in the second model are similar to the results in the first model and that these could be considered as extensions.
