Abstract

The major practice was done on two farms: Ferrer Farm in Sariaya, Quezon and Hacienda Linda in Calatagan. Batangas. Ferrer mango farm has a total area of 5.4 ha planted to 530 bearing trees while Hacienda Linda has a total area of 7 ha w. ith 350 bearing but unproductive trees. In Ferrer Farm. flower induction using 3% Ca(NO3), concentration resulted to 81% flowering. Fourteen percent produced leaf flushes and five percent did not respond. Pesticide spraying was done twice, at 13 and 89 days after flower induction (DAFT) while foliar fertilizer application was done once at 13 DAFT. The total ■ field of the farm was 18.342.6 kg or 4.74 mt ha'', 93.9% of which were sold. 0.9% for household consumption and 5.8% rejects. The total cash revenue from selling the 17.116 kg marketable fruits for both regular and segunda grades was l'hp 190,740.00. The total cost of the production was Php 180.146.80, excluding harvesting cost. The cost to produce mango on a per hectare basis mm ith 100 trees is l'hp 41,894.60: on a per tree basis it costs l'hp 418.95. The cost to produce a kg of mango was Php 9.82. which was also the break-e, en price. Break even yield was computed at 12,009.79 kg at farm gate price of Php15.00. The return on investment was computed to be 1.07.
