Abstract

The assessment of unidimensional utility function of a decision maker is an essential component in the use of Multi-attribute Utility Theory. When the assessment is performed by a decision maker without the direct support of e computer the task (:an be a time consuming and ardous process. To support him in the assessment, a computer-based decision aid for assessing unidimensional utility function is developed with the following features: interactive assessment of utility function, visual representation of the assessed utility function through computer graphics, consistency checking of the inputted preference information, and a versatile data management.
