Abstract
A linear programming model formulated for feed-mix ration for Broilers or Meat type chickens and layers or egg type chickens. The formulated model was based on the local problems of feed-millers, such as the cost and availability of raw materials and the nutrient requirement of each type of chickens. The formulated linear programming model was applied to seven (7) feed rations namely, for the Broilers: 1) chick Booster; 2) Broiler starter, 3) Broiler Finisher; for the Layers; 4) Chick Grower; 5) Pullet Developer; 6) Layer Mash I; and 7) Layer Mash II. the formulated linear programming model for each ration was solved through the use of LP88, a linear programming package. Each of the rations bear an optimal solution. The sensitivity analysis for each ration was discussed.
