Abstract

A simulation model of the present ship scheduling system of the National School Corporation was designed. The flowchart model model was used as a model in developing the simulation program, ShipSched. Past data (January 1988) was used in validating the model, as well as in the test runs, wherein certain parameters (loading rate of the finished products) were varies. A graph of the resulting January 1988 schedule was made as the basis for evaluating the present ship scheduling system. The different durations of loading at different rates of loading rate for the various finished products were also graphed.
