Abstract
Four dwarf coconut namely, 'Pascual Green Dwarf, 'Rabanuel Green Dwarf', 'Orange Dwarf', and 'Yellow Dwarf', were observed for 10 months to compare their nut production under Los Baños conditions.
Monthly data on production of spathos, buttons and nuts were observed. Percentage fruit set amd stigmatic receptivity were also obtained.
Variations within populations were noted on the various characters at varying levels. The rate of fruit set tended to vary inversely with the number of female flowers. The number of nuts harvested per month was noted to be function of fruit-setting percentage and the production of female flowers.
The reproductive patterns of the cultivars were practically the same in all with peaks of nut production in the months of April, May, June and July and dips in the months of August to November.
