Abstract

The major practice was conducted in barrio Looc, Calamba, Laguna from October 1, 1977 to arch 15, 1978 to train the student in actual farm management, identify problems besetting agricultural production and offer feasible solutions to these problems.

The student practitioner participated in the various activities in the farm as well as in the community, taking note of the cultural management practices employed by farmers and the problems encountered.

Problems identified were inadequate capital, low and highly-fluctuating price, inadequate knowledge of improved cultural practices and unstable peace and order situation in the community. The recommendations given were: formation of cooperative among the farmers, proper timing of planting crops, planting of highly-valued crops, sponsoring farmers' field trips and seminars and organization of Barangay Tanod in the community.
