Abstract
The major practice was conducted in three project sites of Joseph Server and Associates, Inc namely in Portofino, Brittany Bay Alabang, La Posada, Brittany Bay Sucat and Forbes Park in Makati from May until July 2007.
The major practice focused on the implementation of the design and the management practices in maintaining the aesthetic and pleasing quality of the landscaped area The practices included in landscape implementation phase are laying out, staking, clearing, backfilling, leveling of soil and cleaning. The activities included in landscape maintenance phase are watering, weeding, application of nutrients, management of pests and diseases, guying, cultivation and trimming. These activities were observed and some were actually performed.
Problems encountered while in the major practice sites such as the health status of the landscape plants and landscape design, and personnel relations were noted. These problems significantly affect the pace and quality of the projects. The recommended solutions include appropriate management practices to maintain the aesthetic quality of the plants, and to closely monitor activities of the personnel.
