Abstract
Construction management can be considered as a crucial part of a construction project. It involves a long and complicated process that if not executed properly can cause time delays and cost overrun. There may be no single construction management method that can be applied to ensure that the project will be accomplished within the desired objectives because of the uniqueness of every project but certain practices can be applied for it to improve thus, analysis of construction management must be conducted. The study was done to analyze the construction management in the New World Hotel (NWH) renovation project. It aims to identify the major factors related to construction management which that have huge contribution to the possible delay of the project. Data used in the analysis were gathered through observations during the field practice, personal communication with the engineers involved in the project and through contractor submittals. The main factors determined were the undefined construction management hierarchy and proper workload division. In addition to that, income analysis was also done to determine whether prioritizing hotel operations or renovation would be owner's best alternative. Lastly, analysis of the workers' labor productivity was conducted to compensate for the delay caused by this time restriction.
