Abstract
Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (85:15) and Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA)/Polycaprolactone (PCL) blends, 30/70, 50/50, and 70/30 were successfully fabricated by electrospinning. The three blend ratios of PLGA/PCL showed that as the concentration of PLGA increased the diameter decreased. The fiber diameter ranges from 59 nm to 582 nm. ANOVA for repeated measures showed that there is a significant difference between the means of the different PLGA/PCL blend ratios. Elemental Diffraction X-ray analysis showed that none of the samples were contaminated. The peaks observed in the FTIR spectra of PLGA and PLGA/PCL blend did not show any major difference in the assigned spectra of PLGA and PCL. Molecular interactions did not occur that could modify the chemical structure of the produced nanofibers.
