Abstract

With the increasing number of population in Manila. it is practical to construct a high rise building for its residence in small lot. Today, high rise buildings are home for many people especially to those that live far from Manila. The luxurious residence building, Supreme Garden Residence, is located in Tondo, Manila. Bored piles are often used as foundation of these high rise residence buildings. Since bored piles are embedded in soil, the actual cross sectional area may incur imperfections or defects. In this study, the moment capacity of bored pile cross sections with defects was computed by determining the moment-curvature curves of arbitrary sections with the aid of trial version of "Cross Section Analysis & Design: software.
