Abstract
Sampled populations of fruitfly from the dumpsite, fruit orchard, vegetable field, river back and house visitations at Real, Calamba, Laguna revelaed that Drosphila simulans Sturtevant was the predominating species. The species was identified based on its morphology. danglial cells extracted from third instar larvae contained the mitotic chromosomes of D. simulans. Karyotype analysis of male and female D. simulans were made. Four pairs of chromosomes consisted of 3 II A +XY(0) or XX(0). All the chromosomes types were described.
