Abstract
Zooplankton concentrates were collected from Sampaloc Lake analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively together with their larvae. rotifers examined were under: Branchionus, Keratella, Tetramastix, Rotatoria and Trichocerca with Brachionus and Keratella dominating the population. The only copepod found was Mesocyclops and Moina for Cladocera. Zooplankton was found to have a positive influence on fish production, that is by being part of the food chain. The zooplanktons, whether herbivors, carnivores or omnivores provide a large link that leads up to the larger fish. One interesting observation is the abundance of the rotifers. This could be due to its ability to remain dormant, and their relatively smaller size compared to the Copepods and Cladocerans.
