Abstract
The leaf tips of dioscorea alata were tested for nitrogenase activity and was found to be positive. Isolation of the nitrogen-fixing microorganisms was done by serial dilution technique. the nitrogen-fixing bacterial isolate was placed under the family Enterobacteriacease.
