Blood samples from ninety (90) milkfish (Chanos chanos Forkskall) were analyzed, 30 from ,.ew Washington, Aklan (Site 1), 30 from Makato, Aklan (Site 2) and another 30 from Numancia, Aklan (Site 3), respectively. Through the use of disc gel electrophoresis, multiple isohemoglobins in complex and heterogenous patterns ranging from 7-12 isohemoglobin bands in Site 1, 5-12 in Site 2 and 5-12 bands in Site 3 were observed. A total of 25 isohemoglobins were obtained for all samples analyzed. Isohemoglobin 1, the fastest moving band which is uniquely expressed in sites 1 and 3 has a mean electrophoretic mobility (Rf value) of 0.954 while the slowest moving band, isohemoglobin 25 found in all three sites, has an average Rf value of 0.033. Cathodal isohemoglobins, which possess no Bohr effect were predominantly expressed in all the three sites.
