Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at Sensient Technologies (Phils.) Inc. located in Laguna International Industrial Park (LIIP) in Biñan, Laguna. The author was required to complete 150 hours of training in the company from April 25 to May 20, 2011. Sensient Technologies (Sxt) is an international company that manufactures colors and flavors that caters to the demands of the market. The author was assigned in Quality Assurance department, where she performed physic-chemical analyses of different samples; in Research and Development department, where she learned to prepare the sample formulations; and in Production department, where she packed a finished powder product. Being exposed in the food industry and in a working environment, she learned new knowledge, skills and techniques which hone her self-confidence, working relations, and ability needed to pursue a career in the field of food science and technology.
