Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of varying salinity, different pH levels and susceptibility to fungal pathogens of Azolla UPLB Hybrid 2. Specific parameters tested include germination frequency, color changes, doubling time, root length and number, chlorophyll content and heterocyst index. Results showed that the 0,o)) UPLB Hybrid 2 is tolerant to extremes of pH. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect on megaspore germination, root length and root number and heterocyst index. Under different pH levels, the hybrid was resistant to fungal attack. At varying salinity, the hybrid was found to be saline tolerant. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect on doubling time, root length and number under different saline conditions. The saline - tolerant hybrid was found to be moderately susceptible to Sclerotium attack,
