Abstract

The sex of a child is affected by the pH of the female reproductive tract. This hypothesis was tested by interviewing 100 pregnant women with regular menstrual cycle. Babies conceived within and after the range of ovulation were predicted to the male due to the basic pH of the reproductive tract which favors the survival of the Y-bearing sperms. Babies conceived before the range of ovulation were predicted to be female because of the acidic pH of the tract which was detrimental to delicate Y-bearing. sperms. Results showed that there is a significant correlation between the predicted sex and the actual sex of the baby. Accuracy of the Chinese calendar was also tested and results showed that there is no correlation between the predicted sex and the actual sex.
