Abstract

The plant practice was completed in Wyeth Philippines Inc. (WPD located in Canlubang Industrial Estate, Bo. Pittland, Canlubang, Laguna from April 19, 2011 to May 14, 2011 for an estimated of 150 man-hours. The company manufactures infant milk formulation to nourish the young. The trainee was assigned at Microbiology Laboratory under the Quality Operations Division. Various practices employed in a food processing operation specifically in a nutritional facility were performed and analyzed to guarantee that Raw Materials, In-Process, and Finished Products are safe for human consumption and are of highest quality. The scope of the plant practice covers an overview of the production processes in infant milk formulation, hands-on training on Media Preparation to Environmental Monitoring, and testing overview of Raw Materials, In-Process, and Finished Products. For almost three weeks of plant practice, the trainee was able to meet its objectives to apply theories and principles learned in the University into actual working situations, acquire management and technical skills, and to gain self-confidence and proper decorum in food processing.
