Abstract

Studies were conducted on the decline and sorption of methamidophos in Talisay and Laurel soil sample. In the decline analysis, methamidophos residue was obtained using acetone extraction. The decline of methamidophos in both soils followed 1.* order kinetics. The degradation rate constant and half-life of methamidophos in Talisay soil are 0.1135day' and 6.1days. respectively; while in Laurel soil the values obtained were 0.0975day-1 and 7,1 days, respectively. Results of the T-test show that Talisay and Laurel soil samples have no significant difference in the degradation rate of the methamidophos. Percent adsorptions of methamidophos in Talisay and Laurel soils were 25.41 and 47 50, respectively. Differences in the values were attributed to the possible differences in the clay mineral and organic matter content of the soil.
