NATATA, VENUS PACIENCIA TILO, College Agriculture- College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines at Los Banos. March 1994. CHEMICA ANALYSIS ON THE DUALITY OF GROUNDWATER IN BARANGAY PULU-CABUYAO, LAGUNA.

Adviser: Dr. Nieva T. Librojo- Basilio

The quality of groundwater in Barangay Polo, Cabuyao, Laguna was monitored for three sampling months using different chemical parameters such as: pH, total dissolved solids, total hardness, chloride, nitrates, sulfates, major cations as sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and the heavy metal lead. All values that were obtained from the study are within the permissible limits as set by the Bureau of Food and Drugs.

The pH values ranged from 7.44 to 7.96. Chloride concentrations ranged from 55.51 to 109.97 ppm. Total hardness gave values ranging from 125.45 to 202.20 ppm. Nitrate determination gave values ranging from 1.54 to 8.75 ppm. Sulfate concentrations gave a range of 4.80 to 9.10 ppm. The values obtained for the major cations 4T-P.: 61.00 to 136.88 for Na, 9.33 to 27.75 ppm for Ca, 19.05 to 30.00 ppm for Mg, and 19.85 to 42.50 ppm for K.
