Abstract
Ascorbic acid levels in the blood of selected students of University of the Philippines Los Baños as well as the factors affecting the concentration of the vitamin were determined. Ascorbic acid values obtained ranged from 0.70 to 2.78 mg/L. The factors that significantly affected the ascorbic acid levels in the blood of the samples were the intake supplements, tea consumptions frequency and eating of fruits and vegetables giving increased ascorbic acid levels. Smoking, exposure to smokers, intake of medications, soft drink consumption and stress did otherwise.
