Ion-exchange capacities for the prepared nata-de-coco derivatives, Diethylaminoethyl (DEAL)-nata and nata-sulphate, were determined and compared to the commercially available ion-exchange resins, Diethylamin.oethyl (DEAF) -cellulose and Amberlite CD-50. DiRE-nata gave 65.11 . ionic adsorption, 72.71% for DEAF-cellulose, 52.18% for nate-sulphate and 59.97% for Amberlite CG-5O.

The efficiency of these derivatives as insoluble matrices for glucoamylase immobilization was evaluated using two methods of enzyme immobilization. Retained activity of bound enzyme were measured as 54.47%, 53.60%, 46.93 for DERE-cellulose Sigma, DEAL-nata, and nata-sllphate using adsorption method whereas 68.57%, 61.64,. and 49.02% were given for the same sequence of carriers using the covalent-bonding method.
