Abstract

The Plant Practice was conducted at the Fonterra Brands Philippines, Incorporated located at the 28th Floor, Cyber One Bldg, 11 Eastwood Avenue, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Libis, Quezon City from February 6 to March 21, 2014. The student was placed in charge of creating and revising documents which are relevant to the production process and serve as guides in the process flow, preparing reports for the tests conducted, including recommendations and suggestions with respect to the current process undertaken by the company. The student also took part in the Quality Assurance processes undertaken by the co-packer, where the products are processed, which include laboratory tests relevant to the manufacture of powdered milk. At the end of the plant practice period, the student was able to help in the different activities in the New Product Development sub-department and understood the relevance of the theoretical knowledge as applied in the company, and utilized the necessary techniques in industry-scale food processing which she learned in the University.
