Abstract

Sorrento Oasis is one of the oasis-themed medium rise condo communities being developed by Filinvest Land Incorporated (FLI). It is composed of 17 mid-rise residential five-storey building located at C. Raymundo Ave. Ortigas, Pasig City, Philippines. Due to its soil condition, floating foundation is used to support the condominiums.This research aims to analyzethe stresses acting on the said foundation. This includes the familiarization of construction methodology and determination of stresses presentin the foundation. to do this, a finite element model was created using STAAD Pro (trial version). Then, loads computed using NSCP 2010 were applied to the structure. As a result of the programs analysis, stresses that act on the foundation was fdetermined. To further analyze the stresses, a model of the foundation was made using SAFE (trial version). Through its nalysis, the deflection and soil pressure caused by the stresses were observed. Seprate cases considering with and ithout uplift were cnducted. Using the model, the maximum deflection and soil pressure were computed and located. Also, there was almost no change in stresses on the slab with or without the presence of uplift force.
