Abstract
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Philippines has several ground transportation. One of it is an inter-terminal shuttle service that transfer passengers from one terminal to another. However, sometimes, those existing shuttle services cannot perform their obligations due to problems like traffic congestion since they are operating on public roadways. This situation results in delay of shuttle’s arrival at terminals as well as delay for the passengers. Thus, to address this problem, this study aims to develop an inter-terminal shuttle service that will operate inside the terminal itself focusing on routing and scheduling. Data of the maximum hourly passengers using the shuttle service was obtained from NAIA. From this, parameters such as passenger flows, dwell time, headway, and fleet size, used in determining the schedule of the shuttle service were determined. It was found that two vehicles with a 20-passenger capacity are needed to transfer all the passengers from one terminal to another with 17 minutes waiting time. This number of vehicles excludes the number of spare vehicles. On the other hand, for routing, aerodrome map of NAIA was shown consisting of the route and arrows showing the directions of flow within the terminal roads.
