Abstract

A 150-hour practicum was conducted at Coca–Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. situated at Silangan Industrial Estate, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna from April to May 2011. Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. Canlubang Plant is one among the authorized bottlers of the Coca-Cola Company in the country. It has five production lines, two lines for the carbonated soft drinks manufacture and three lines for bottled water. The plant is GMP, HACCP and ISO certified which are evidences of its adherence to the production of excellent quality and safe products. Being assigned to the Quality Assurance Laboratory and Water Treatment Facility of the plant, the trainee was able to apply the theoretical knowledge he acquired in the university in monitoring raw water parameters, PET blow molding, water pre-treatments, distilling operation and bottled water parameters. The training gave the student an understanding on the different processes that the product underwent before it can be distributed to the market. It exposed the trainee to a working and social environment which will prepare him for the future career that awaits him.
