Abstract

The field practice was conducted at Global Partners, Inc. located at Lot 1, 8th Avenue, Golden Mile Business Park, Brgy. Maduya, Carmona, Cavite from April 14, 2014 to May 21, 2014. The field practice focused on the processing of Kahel into fruit juice powder through the spray drying process. Moreover, the field practice comprises the evaluation of plant facilities, operations and management, and application of the agricultural engineering principles and theories to food processing. Global Partners, Inc. is a processing plant which supplies natural fruit powder in the Philippines and export to other countries. The company offers services such as customized production, toll packing, private labelling, capsuling, blistering, tea bagging, dry and liquid filling and product formulation utilizing in-house research and development technology. During the field practice, the trainee was able to observe, familiarize, evaluate, and participate in the processing operations inside the plant. In the processing operations of Kahel fruit powder, the trainee observed some problems and gave corresponding recommendations. The field practice provided knowledge and experience regarding the different operations done in the processing of raw agricultural products into a valuable marketable product, and prepared the trainee for her future career as an Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer.
