Abstract
Rework commonly occurs in construction and is considered a major factor that causes delay of projects. in general, cost of network for residential projects constitutes to 3.15% of the total contract value. according to literature, projects that have formal quality management system can have rework cost as low as 0.72% of the total construction cost. Using the data obtained from the punchlist of every unit in Tower 5 of the project, the field practice aims to measure the impact of rework on construction cost of a high rise condominium. Furthermore, it will discuss the methods and processes in quality inspection of a residential unit as well as identify the main sources of rework in the project. The result of this study establishes the efficiency of quality management system employed in the project. Through the identification and understanding of the impact and sources od rework, reworks on construction projects can be lessen and thus improves the project cost performance.
