Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at Sensient Technologies (Phil.) Inc. located at Lot 5, Block 12, Star Avenue, Laguna International Industrial Park (LIIP), Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna from April 16, 2013 to May 10, 2013 for a period of 150 hours. Sensient Technologies Corporation is a leading international manufacturer and marketer of colors, flavors and fragrances. It develops specialty food and beverage systems, cosmetic and pharmaceutical systems, inkjet and other specialty chemicals with the use of advanced technologies and facilities. The trainee was able to experience practical training in various product flow processes of the company by her assignment to the Quality Assurance Laboratory, Research and Development Laboratory and Production Area. The practicum became an opportunity for her to acquire knowledge on how an actual food processing plant operates and also to develop her communication skills, time management and the ability to adapt in a variety of challenging environments.
