Abstract
We developed a can satellite (CanSat) capable of gathering and processing relative humidity, air pressure, temperature, and GPS data for microclimate monitoring. We tested if the sensors and other components of the satellite can function as a single unit by using it to measure the microclimate in selected steep locations in the UP Los Baños campus and some simulated environmental conditions. The data are compared with those taken simultaneously and in the same locations by similar individual sensors. The results are in agreement suggesting the capability of the CanSat in monitoring microclimate.
