Abstract

The practicum was conducted at Edward Keller (Philippines), Inc. located at 101Prosperuty corner Unity Avenue, Carmelray Industrial Park 1 Canlubang, Calamba City, 4028 Laguna, Philippines under the Business and Development Services (BDS) Department from April 11 to May 24, 2011 for a period of 150 hours. The company is well-known for the toll manufacturing services. Their products include bakery mixes, fillings, toppings, syrups, beverage concentrates, seasonings, tenderizers, coating system, sauce, marinades, and gravy. The trainee was exposed to both technical and marketing aspects of the company. She was tasked to work on a project entitled “Product Feature” wherein she learned marketing and managerial skills. She also worked under the Quality Assurance Department giving her opportunity to improve her laboratory skills and explore the technical features employed by the company. At the end of the training, a comprehensive written report regarding the practicum was prepared which comprises all the pertinent information about the company that contributed to the trainee’s learning together with some recommendations that may help to further improve the company’s operations.
