Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at Mondelez International Philippines, former Kraft Foods Philippines, located at 8378 Dr. A. Santos Avenue, Sucat, Parañaque City, Metro Manila from April 12 to May 30, 2013. The company is a multinational food company that manufactures Tang, Maxweel House Coffee, Kool Aid, Eden, Cheez Whiz, Kraft Cheddar, Miracle Whip, Kraft Real Mayonnaise, Kraft Sandwich Spread, Calumet, Oreo, Tiger, Chips Ahoy, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Toblerone, Halls, and clorets. The student-trainee was tasked to assist Sensory Evaluation and Consumer Science arm of the Research, Development and Quality Department. The entire period of the training was spent conducting sensory testing specifically triangle testing and competitive monitoring and marking. The trainee was also able to observe product development activities in the powdered beverages, cheese and groceries laboratories. The trainee was able to apply the activities during the training. Besides technical aspects, the student-trainee was able to hone proper communication skills and working attitude with the help of her co-trainees and the guidance of her supervisors. Over-all, the plant practice provided the trainee with actual working experience that would be very useful for her employments in the future.
