Abstract

The plant practice was conducted at Edward Keller (Philippines), Inc. (EKPI) from April 11, 2011 to May 24, 2011. EKPI is a wholly subsidized company of Diethelm, Keller, Siber-Hegner (DKSH) The trainee spent 240 hours at the Marketing, Quality Assurance and Research and Development Departments wherein she was exposed to marketing and technical operations. In the marketing sector two projects were assigned to the trainee, first is the Manufacturing Sales Kit, which intends to show the manufacturing capabilities of EKPI, next is the Product Feature which aims to provide a brochure-like material that will present the products available at EKPI to the other DKSH branch. Activities related to the two projects such as product application and development and food styling were done under the supervision of Research and Development Department. Hand on experience in different food analyses such as physico-chemical, microbiological, sensory analyses and product application were done for a week in the Quality Assurance Department.
