Abstract

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) was conducted at the Nestlé Quality Assurance Center in Cabuyao, Nestlé Philippines, Inc., a center providing analytical and technical services of food products, from April 16 to May 20, 2011. The OJT enabled the trainee to gain a good perspective of the food industry. It also enabled the trainee to gain experience in the industry as well as apply and incorporate the knowledge obtained from the university. The trainee was assigned at the ‘Salmonella’ laboratory and performed analyses for detection of the Salmonella species, and the chemistry laboratory where the student executed activities for the quantification of organic and inorganic components of received samples.
