Abstract

Abstract: The farm practice was conducted at LICA Dairy Farm, a small-scale dairy farm, located in Brgy. Marawoy, Lipa City, Batangas from April 25 to May 25, 2011. LICA Dairy Farm maintains 30 head of dairy animals and processes milk produced in the farm into various dairy products such as fresh milk, choco milk, yoghurt, white cheese, cheese spread, butter and pastillas. The farm practice enabled the student to be exposed to different dairy farm operations and put into practice the principles in dairy production acquired in the university. The student was able to perform the different practices in a dairy farm such as calf rearing, feeding, record keeping, milking, and milk processing. Technical and Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analyses were done. Problems were also identified and solutions and/recommendations were presented.
